Letter Writing with Kino Border Initiative

"I was sick and in prison, and you visited me..."

Through building relationships with those that are in custody, we explore what Jesus meant when he said, "I was in prison, and you came to me..." What does it mean to see the Jesus in our brothers and sisters who are held in custody. In the Sonoran Desert, many men, women and children are held in detention throughout the state. Eloy Detention Facility, part way between Tucson and Phoenix, is one of the major spaces where people are held, and where many start their journey.

Through one of our Board Members, we are connected to individuals who are held in detention, seeking asylum, and are able to be present to Jesus in many ways, beginning with something as simple as writing a letter and listening to someone's story.
