Words from a Tucson college student, "Temptation comes in many forms including emotional tolls. A constant method of oppression is seeing border patrol in our city, schools and public areas. There isn't a day that goes by where I don’t see at least two border patrol cars around the city. It's frustrating to know that at any time the same border patrol cars that drive next to us have separated families and detained people seeking a better life. Every time I drive near a border patrol car I tend to tense up, hold my breath and pray that at the next light they will make a turn. In these moments, my life always tend to flash before my eyes and my security along with my parents’ security is in question. Being 100-miles away from the border signifies that border patrol and their hunt for human lives lurks around our streets."
Día 24 de 40 "La tentación viene en muchas formas, incluyendo dificultades emocionales. Un método constante de opresión es ver patrullas fronterizas en nuestra ciudad, escuelas y áreas públicas. No hay un día en que no vea al menos dos patrullas fronterizas alrededor de la ciudad. Es frustrante saber que en cualquier momento los mismos patrulleros fronterizos que conducen a nuestro lado han separado familias y personas detenidas que buscan una vida mejor. Cada vez que manejo cerca de una patrulla fronteriza tiendo a tensarme, contener la respiración y rezar para que a la siguiente luz giren. En estos momentos, mi vida siempre tiende a destellar ante mis ojos y mi seguridad junto con la de mis padres está en duda. Estar a 100 millas de la frontera significa que la patrulla fronteriza y su búsqueda de vidas humanas acechan en nuestras calles."
