Happy International Women's Day - In this picture there is a group of women workers from a date palm plantation in Somerton, AZ, returning from the field, after a long day of work. Many of them cross the Mexico-USA line to work more than 8 hours a day in the field and then return to their homes to continue their work at home. Others are the main economic support of their homes. During a day of work, the theology of rural workers in summer and in the middle of the desert is this: "God remembers us when He sends a wind." Thank you God for this little wind!
1 Kings 19:11-12
"He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Now there was a great wind, so strong that it was splitting mountains and breaking rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence."

Feliz Día Internacional de la Mujer - En esta foto aparecen un grupo de mujeres trabajadoras de una plantación de palmas de dátil, en Somerton, AZ, regresando del campo, después de un largo día de trabajo. Muchas de ellas cruzan la línea México- USA para trabajar más de 8 horas diarias en el campo y después regresan a sus casas a continuar con sus labores en el hogar. Otras son el sostén económico principal de sus hogares. Durante una jornada de trabajo, la teología de las trabajadoras del campo en verano y en medio del desierto es esta: “Dios se acuerda de nosotros cuando nos manda un vientecito”. ¡Gracias Dios por este vientecito!

Y he aquí Jehová que pasaba, y un grande y poderoso viento que rompía los montes, y quebraba las peñas delante de Jehová; pero Jehová no estaba en el viento.
